There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.
So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.
Valeria from Russia is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of VICTON! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!
Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?
Hello everyone, my name is Valeria (@victon_alicerus on Twitter) and I am from Russia.
How and when did you enter the fandom?
I accidentally saw VICTON’s pre-debut show (Me7Nam) in August 2016 and had been waiting for their debut ever since!
What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?
VICTON are very talented boys, they have good personalities and really cool music! You can watch any show with them or their performances on stage and you will see how sincere, gorgeous and hardworking they are! If I’m sad, I feel healed when I look at their smiles. If I’m having fun, they add even more color to my life. I support their dream and share joyful and sad moments with them.
Who caught your attention at first and why?
To be honest, SeJun first attracted me, in the teaser for their debut show, he had such a cute smile and a dimple on his cheek that I realized that I should stan him and this group.
Who is your bias, and why?
I have…. 7 biases!! No matter how trite it may sound, for all my five years as ALICE, I have not been able to “choose” my bias in VICTON, each of them attracts and stands out in his own way.
Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?
I recommend ‘Remember Me’ as a title track, make sure to check out MV too!! I really like this style of music!
B-side track: ‘Sunrise’ or ‘Timeline’ (sorry, I can’t choose one B-side track). These songs make me feel many-many feelings. I think these are must listen songs for new fans!
Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?
Since I have 7 biases, I recommend VICTON’s cover performance on KBS “Immortal Songs 2” with song Shin SeungHun’s – ‘Romeo and Juliet’. This is an incredible cover that shows how talented each of the 7 guys is!

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?
‘LIGHT’: “Into the light 너의 곁에 환한 빛이 될게 힘겨운 그날은 이제 bye bye 마지막인 것처럼 춤을 춰 Open your eyes 지금부터 너의 빛이 될게 이젠 날아올라 fly high You trust me, count on me yeah 너와 나의 빛이 비췰 때 꿈꿔왔던 날이 열릴 때 Shine on you (shine on me) 한 번뿐인 이 세상에 영원히 너를 비춰줄게 Let me hold your hand” These lyrics give me strength and make me very sentimental. ALICE will always be a light to VICTON, just like VICTON will always be a light to ALICE.
Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?
Some people think that VICTON has little content and that they are boring, but this is a false opinion. Firstly, VICTON try different music styles and genres and never get stuck on one thing, so every time it’s interesting to wait for their comeback! Secondly, SeungSik and SeungWoo (and after SeungWoo’s enlistment in the army, Chan replaced him) hosted their own radio show on NAVER NOW (‘Blanket Kick’). SuBin (“Meet you again”, “Psychopath Diary”, “Fling At Convenience Store”, “Take My Heart” and just a cameo role in “Uncle”), ByungChan (“LIVE ON”, “The King’s Affection”, “A Business Proposal” and just a cameo role in “Sassy Go Go”), SeJun ("Out&In Sider" and "Her Bucket List"), SeungWoo ("Love#Hashtag") have acted in K-Dramas and they are all great actors! SeungSik played in a live sitcom on stage (ON AIR ‐ The Secret Contact) and in a musical I Loved You; Chan and SeJun played in a viewable radio ('ON AIR-SPIN OFF'). Also SeungSik and SeJun will be in Shinswave's musical EQUAL`. SeungWoo released two solo albums (“FAME” released in 2020 and “FADE” released in 2021), where he had shown different music styles, from ballads to dynamic and powerful songs. HanSe also released his solo-album in 2021 “BLAZE”. This is an incredible album, you can find a song to your liking! SuBin (his YouTube account) and SeungSik do vlogs for ALICE, and SeJun has a second Instagram where he posts pictures he takes in his free time. All the boys from time to time upload covers, record OSTs and act in entertainment shows. You definitely won’t get bored with them!
What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?
I administrate a VICTON fan-community for Russian-speaking ALICE (https://vk.com/victon.plana); my daily life consists of updates and translations of messages from boys for everyone who does not understand them due to not knowing the Korean language! Now there are already 20,000 Russian-speaking ALICE in the community! Actually, because of VICTON, I started to learn Korean and became more interested in Korean culture!
What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?
I meet and communicate with many amazing ALICE from different countries. We are united by love for VICTON and it’s wonderful!
Can you describe your favorite group in only one word?
VICTON: “Rainbow. It’s the prettiest with seven colors” - SeungWoo
If you are collecting goods, what is your most precious treasure? (please share a picture of it).
Signed postcard from VICTON concert in Moscow! I was at their concert in Moscow and got it. This is the most precious treasure in my collection.
What’s your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias?
Most recently, on April 21, VICTON performed ‘Time Of Sorrow’ on M!Countdown. This song was released in 2018 and could be said to be a farewell song, however, it marked their new beginning instead. They did a special incredible spring performance, the whole fandom was incredibly happy! This song is very precious and meaningful to all of us.
Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.
I want to see VICTON on Jessi’s “Showterview”. I love Jessi’s interviews. It’s so funny and chaotic! Jessi is really sweet, chill and naturally funny. I hope she interview VICTON too. I really love Jessi, she always makes sure everyone is comfortable.
Do you have a dream subunit/unit? (It can be with a fellow member or another K-Pop idol).
I want to see the official debut of the unit: SeungWoo, HanSe and SuBin. They already performed one song together - ‘No prob’. Their voices sound very good together!!
