Regardless of whether you’re a young viewer or an adult, here are 5 high-school K-Dramas that will satisfy you to the fullest!

1. “Sassy Go Go”

A drama that delves deep into the failures of the education system and how it affects young people in their formative years, “Sassy Go Go” is the perfect K-Drama to binge in a day or two. Starring an excellent cast of fresh faces: Apink’s Jeong EunJi, Lee WonKeun, Chae SooBin, and Park YooNa alongside experienced actors like Kim JiSuk, this drama will leave you hopeful for the future because it is most definitely in good hands.

2. “True Beauty”

“True Beauty” tells the story of a high school student Im JuKyung (played by Mun KaYoung), who grapples with issues of self-confidence from how her appearance is perceived in society. In order to regain control of her circumstances, she picks up the art of makeup and transforms into a goddess. However, JuKyung soon realizes that genuine love and appreciation do not come with outward appearance but rather have everything to do with one’s inner beauty. ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo plays SuHo, the one who facilitates this realization and Hwang InYoup plays SeoJun, the friend (and second lead) we all adore. This iconic trio and their shenanigans will have you daydreaming of a campus romance this sweet.

3. “The School Nurse Files”

The very definition of a K-Drama that virtually anyone can enjoy, “The School Nurse Files” is a masterpiece, to say the least. The premise of this drama revolves around mysterious jelly monsters born of human desire taking over a high school and the eponymous school nurse Ahn EunYoung (played by Jung YuMi) fighting them with the help of fellow teacher Hong InPyo (played by Nam JooHyuk), who carries special energy. From the world-building to the (quite literally) colorful characters, the adventure on the surface, and the hidden meaning underneath, everything about “The School Nurse Files” ensures that it has as many interpretations as it has viewers. This is definitely a drama that you do not want to miss!

4. “At Eighteen”

A poignant tale of love, friendship, and learning, “At Eighteen” is one of the most realistic portrayals of the turbulent yet transformative period that is high school. There’s a quiet elegance to this drama that draws you in and keeps you engaged as our characters come of age and realize the weight of their existence as young adults facing the world of grown-ups. Starring Ong SeongWu, Kim HyangGi, and Shin SeungHo in the leading roles alongside ASTRO’s MoonBin, Kim DoWan, Yoo InSoo, and more, this drama is a must-watch!

5. “School 2013”

Finally, this list would not be complete without one of the best installments of the “School” series, “School 2013”. If you’re looking for a high-school drama sans romance that is nonetheless filled with the raging angst of teenage misfits, “School 2013” is your best bet. In addition, this drama also highlights the major role that adults like teachers hold in shaping the youth. Starring Lee JongSuk, Kim WooBin, Jang NaRa, and Choi Daniel, this drama continues to be as refreshing and relevant now as it was when it first aired. How many of these K-Dramas have you watched?
