This year, a host of this themed series is set to thrill the hearts of fans who cannot wait for more. With so many scheduled and so many already in production, here are the BL series that have already been released this year.  

1. “Semantic Error”

Perhaps the most popular BL series of all time, “Semantic Error” starring Park SeoHam as Jang JaeYoung and DKZ’s JaeChan as Choo SangWoo exceeded every expectation around BL K-Dramas with its incredible plot, brilliant dialogue, and amazing chemistry of the two stars that extended beyond the screen. The story follows 2 students of a university who due to their contrasting personalities, their first meeting was not as rosy. As their story unfolds, we see them display a level of affection that is so beautiful as they try to discover what love and attraction truly mean for same-sexed individuals.  

2. “Cherry Blossoms After Winter”

A youthful romance filled with so many adorable moments that makes the heart beat faster. This series brilliantly captures the love story of two men who try to find the difference between true love and sympathy while also standing their grounds against societal prejudice and expectations. Starring Super Five’s Ok JinWook as HaeBom and Kang Hui as Jo TaeSeong, the thrilling sensation derived from watching their budding romance filled with adorable moments made this series an instant fan favorite.  

3. “Oh! Boarding House”

Set in a boarding house, this story follows two individuals with contrasting personalities but with a connection that grew fonder as their story unfolds. CheonSo (played by Im SungKyun) and SulWon (played by Shin YongSeok) strike a connection through fate when both parties continue to have interactions that play a significant role in their lives. What starts off as a push and pull interaction turns into a budding storyline as they both accept their true feelings for each other.  

4. “First Love Again”

Its interestingly unique storyline is what first captivates the interest of the audience. A story that follows the life of a writer who has been reincarnated 3 times as himself and can remember his past lives and a man who in his previous lives was a woman and his true love. Does true love exist outside of gender? As luck will have it, fate tries to find that answer as famous writer YeonSeok (played by Jin Geon) tries to figure this out as he finds himself falling deeply in love with the new Jeong HaYeon (played by Jeon ChangHa) who is an editor of his new book and also a man.  

5. “Blueming”

A beautiful story that follows the lives of 2 University students who find a sense of security and comfort in one another. Cha SiWon (played by Kang EunBin) is a very handsome and talented freshman who immediately grabs the attention of everyone with his good looks and charming personality. However, despite his confident exterior, deep inside, he is insecure about his looks and tries to always be the best, as he had been bullied before for his weight. His seemingly perfect world comes shattering down and a new student, Hyung DaWoon (played by Cho HyukJun ) seems to challenge his popularity by being just as handsome and talented. What might have been a conflict turns into an instant budding romance as both characters are completely infatuated with each other. However, a storm is on the horizon of their growing romance as a mistake by one of them, puts the other in a precarious position.  

6. “Kissable Lips”

The vampire and human love affair trope is one that is relatively new to K-Drama BL and thus struck the attention of many viewers. However, what keeps the attention of the viewers glued to this fantasy romance drama is the incredible display of affection by both leads as the storyline unfolds. Following a vampire JunHo (played by Kim JiWoong) with a limited time left on earth and a pureblood, Choi MinHyun (played by Yoon SeoBin) whose blood can not just save the vampire but make him human. Both characters are drawn by fate and desire as try to discover their true feelings amidst trying to make a life and death decision.  

7. “Blue Of Winter”

“Blue Of Winter” tells the story of 3 young men who have complicated feelings for each other.
